Cold-rolled steel exhibits tighter tolerances due to it’s manufacturing process. Because it’s processed at room temperature, its dimensions and tolerances are more easily and tightly controlled. It’s not exposed to high temperatures during production, so it’s far less likely to shrink or warp than hot-rolled steel.
