Automated Robotic Welding

Angola Wire’s robotic wire welding services use programmable robotic arms to perform welding tasks faster with remarkable precision. We integrate advanced sensors, software, and control systems to offer a level of accuracy and consistency that surpasses manual methods — the robotic arms used in these processes can execute complex weld patterns, handle intricate geometries, and adapt to various materials.

Robotic MIG Welding Services

The “MIG” in robotic MIG welding stands for “metal inert gas.” This arc welding technique uses a consumable wire electrode to bind two metal pieces together. During this process, a gas shield protects the welding area from airborne contaminants, welding fumes, paint, oil, and particulates.

Our robotic MIG welding service delivers critical benefits:

  • Faster welding
  • Greater efficiency
  • Improved safety

Our automated metal inert gas (MIG) welding robots continuously feed a consumable wire electrode through the welding gun and create an electric arc between the wire and the base metal, generating heat and forming the weld pool. A shielding gas, typically a mixture of argon and carbon dioxide, flows around the weld area to protect it from airborne contaminants, welding fumes, paint, oil, and particulates.

Robotic MIG welding produces strong, durable welds and is ideal for high-volume production; the continuous wire feed allows for fast welding on thick materials. Our robots precisely control wire feed speed, arc length, and movement along the weld joint for consistent results.

Robotic TIG Welding Services

Robotic tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode to generate an electric arc. A separate component feeds filler material into the weld pool if necessary. Pure argon gas or a helium mixture safeguards the weld from atmospheric contamination. Robots equipped with TIG torches control arc length, travel speed, and filler material deposition with exceptional accuracy.

TIG welding has its own advantages:

  • Better accuracy
  • Enhanced weld strength
  • Cleaner welding process

Robotic TIG welding is particularly suited for applications requiring intricate or high-spec welds with complex geometries. While TIG welding is slower than MIG, the enhanced control and weld quality justify its use in applications where precision is more important than speed.
